Newcomers

Calvary Temple is located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. We are ideally situated to assist new immigrants and refugees who have recently arrived in Canada.

We are greatly honored to serve you and help you find your way in your new country. You may have fled a war-torn part of the world with no educational background or technical skills needed for employment in your new home.

You may also have been educated in your native language and therefore need to learn English and/or French to adapt well. We have a group of caring volunteers ready to help you gain the practical skills you need. Please let us assist you.

English Classes

​

Improve your speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills. Learn about Canada and prepare for the citizenship exam.

​

English classes take place on Thursdays at 9:30 am and 4:30 pm in Room 211 (second floor of the Argue Building). Please note that classes have a recess during the summer months.
